Five Roma figures inducted to Italian Football Hall of Fame

This year's Italian Football Hall of Fame inductees include a strong Giallorossi contingent, with no fewer than five figures who have played their part in AS Roma history joining the FIGC's list of all-time greatest calcio personalities.

Daniele De Rossi is included in the Italian Footballers category. He made 616 appearances and scored 63 goals for Roma, won two Coppa Italias and an Italian Super Cup, and went on to become club captain.

Another 'Roma born and bred' captain, Agostino Di Bartolomei, has won a posthumous award. 'Ago' skippered the Giallorossi to their second Scudetto title and also won three Coppa Italias. He turned out for the club 310 times, netting 69 goals.

When Di Bartolomei scored his first goal for Roma, the coach was Manlio Scopigno, in charge for the start of the 1973-74 season. He has also received a posthumous award.

Luciano Spalletti meanwhile has been inducted in the Coaches category. The current Italy boss spent two terms in the Giallorossi dugout, from 2005 to 2009 and from 2016 to 2017. In total he was in charge for 299 competitive fixtures, winning the Coppa Italia twice and the Super Cup once. He also set an all-time club record for points in a single Serie A season: 87 in 2016-17.

Finally, Valentina Giacinti becomes one of the Female Footballers in the Hall of Fame. She has won two Scudetto titles, a Coppa Italia and an Italian Super Cup since joining the Giallorosse in 2022, racking up 95 appearances and 43 goals so far.
