Völler sends Roma and Zaniolo good luck message

Roma legend and current Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Völler last night sent the club a heartfelt message for Nicolo Zaniolo

Roma legend and current Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Völler sent the club a heartfelt message for Nicolò Zaniolo on Thursday evening.

In the message, the former German international - who was inducted into the AS Roma Hall of Fame in 2014 after scoring 45 goals in five years for the club - also thanked Giallorossi CEO Guido Fienga for the completion of the Patrik Schick transfer, delivering a deal that was positive for both clubs and the player himself, and wished Roma well for the new season.

“I’m really sorry for Zaniolo’s injury,” wrote Völler.

“To suffer this injury, so soon after fighting his way back from his last injury, is heartbreaking but the boy is strong and he’s seeing a great surgeon, who our players, who have suffered similar injuries, have also used.

"Good luck in the championship this season and soon, in these weeks, I’ll be in Rome. Rudi.”

Everyone at AS Roma wishes Rudi and Patrik Schick all the best for the forthcoming Bundesliga campaign.
