Soule and Hummels on Empoli win

Matias Soule and Mats Hummels spoke to Sky after the 1-0 win away to Empoli in Serie A Week 28.

Here’s what the two players had to say.

Matias Soulé

Your goal was incredibly quick and even broke a record set by Francesco Totti in 2012.

“I’m happy. We put in a great performance and in the first half, we could’ve scored a few more goals. I’m pleased that my goal helped us bring home the points.”

Do you have any regrets about the missed chances?

“We created a lot, kept possession well, and could have done more in front of goal, but this result will help us prepare for the upcoming matches. It’ll be a battle in Bilbao.”

Mats Hummels

You were back in the starting line-up, and you won again.

“I’m happy because we’ve won so many matches, we’re climbing back up the table and everything is going well.”

What do you expect from Thursday’s game?

“It’ll be a big match against strong opponents, with their fans behind them. It’ll be tough, but it’ll be tough for them too because of the sort of team that we are. As for whether this team can win the Europa League, we feel that we can.”
