Manolas: We don't fear anyone

On the eve of the crunch match against Real Madrid, Kostas Manolas has declared that Roma will put everything into the game against Zinedine Zidane's men without fearing the opposition

"We know Real are a great team full of superstars, but you must remain focused upstairs," declared the Greek defender. "When you face these players you have to play at 100%, but we're strong as well and we don't fear anyone.

"We're going to fight to get a result tomorrow and we'll see what happens at the end."

The Giallorossi centre-back stressed that the match at the Olimpico is the right opportunity to prove that Roma can match Real Madrid.

"You're always motivated playing against Real because you're coming up against the best players in the world. I believe we need to show spirit and prove that we're equal to them on the pitch.

"We need the right mentality and we have to do what the coach tells us. If we think we're only worth a third of Cristiano Ronaldo, it'd be better not to step out onto the pitch.

"As for my fitness, I'm feeling in great condition."

Is it better to line up with three or four at the back against Real Madrid?

"The decision is down to the coach. Three defenders or four doesn't make a difference, we're here to help the team to get a result."

Roma have conceded 16 goals in Europe. Is that a concern going into the tie against Real?

"We've conceded different kinds of goals, but it's not only up to four or five players in a team to defend. It's not just the defence's fault that we've let in 16 goals.

"Tomorrow we need to get a result without conceding to be able to go to Madrid with qualification still as a possibility.

"I have a lot of faith and if the gaffer picks me I will give everything I've got. I hope to help my team to pick up a positive result."
