AS Roma's first jersey pays homage to the link between the capital city’s club and the neighbourhood symbol of Roma fans, which will also characterise the concept of the other two kits to be released in the following weeks.
The colour palette is reminiscent of the dark red and gold that characterised the early season tickets a little less than a century ago between 1933 and 1934.This meeting, therefore, between two objects that most represent the fan's bond and act of faith towards his team.
The shirt has a dark red base, with the addition of thin gold stripes and a deeper red on the front. The club logo is applied at the position of the heart with the adoption of the same shade of red as on the jersey. The round-neck design features the brand's three iconic stripes on the shoulders in a golden version.
On the back of the collar, the detail “A.S. Roma” appears, also inspired by the 1933/34 seasonal tickets.
The jersey design is a tribute to the club's DNA and its connection to the Testaccio district, in an elegant tribute to the past, the shape of which, is updated according to contemporary canons. The kit is completed by shorts and socks in a dominant deep red colour with gold details.
The new kit will make its debut on the pitch on 22 July when the men's team plays a friendly match against Kosice.
AS Roma's new home kit is available starting today, 18 July, at AS Roma shops and website, at adidas stores, on the adidas app and on adidas.com as well as at official retail partner JD.
