Alayah joins from Zurich, having previously plied her trade for Aarau and Basel. Last season she helped Zurich win the Swiss Women's Super League and played in the Women’s Champions League.
Pilgrim explained her decision to join the Giallorosse by saying: “Roma is a club with a really big history. I think this is the best opportunity for me, the best next step in my career to develop and get better. I hope to learn from every single person in the team because there's so much quality here.
“I was at the Tre Fontane for the Bayern game and the atmosphere was crazy. I can't wait to play in front of our fans.”
The 20-year-old has turned out six times for the senior Switzerland team and last October scored their first goal in the Nations League, against Spain.
“Alayah is a player we've been watching for a while,” explained Roma Head of Women's Football Betty Bavagnoli. “She's a talented youngster and one of the most promising footballers on the international scene.”
“We're happy she's decided to take up this challenge and we're sure that with her ability and skill set she will help our team. We'd like to give her a warm welcome to the AS Roma family.”
Welcome to Roma, Alayah!
