Roma Women are delighted to announce the signing of forward Valeria Pirone ahead of the new campaign.
The Italy international has signed a contract with the club that runs until 30 June 2022.
Pirone, 32, has represented Napoli, RES Roma, Verona, Mozzanica, Chievo and Sassuolo during her career to date - spending the 2020-21 campaign with the Neroverdi as they finished fourth in Serie A.
"Joining Roma at this stage of my career is a big thing for me," Pirone said.
"It will give me the chance to play with some fantastic players and challenge myself. It is an honour for me."
Pirone is a full Italy international, having made her debut for the Azzurre back in 2011. She earned herself a call-up for the squad again earlier this year, joining Milena Bertolini's training group ahead of two friendlies at the end of the 2020-21 campaign.
"Pirone is a forward with a vast amount of experience, along with great ability and determination," said Betty Bavagnoli, the club's Head of Women's Football.
"We are convinced we've signed a player who will act as a guide for some of our young players - because her desire to fight for every ball is the perfect example of a winning mentality."
Welcome to Rome, Valeria!
