Roma Women win historic first friendly


Roma Women had their first-ever friendly match on Monday morning, running out comfortable winners against New York's Union College.

Playing at their training base in Acqua Acetosa, the Giallorosse established an 8-0 lead in the first half before adding four more after the break. Anna Maria Serturini bagged five goals and Martina Piemonte notched a brace, while Manuela Coluccini, Emma Louise Lipman, Agnese Bonfantini, Maria Zecca and Luisa Pugnali all scored one each.

Elisabetta Bavagnoli's team began pre-season on 6 August. They will switch to Cascia in Umbria for a training camp from 20 to 24 August before kicking off their maiden Serie A campaign on 15 September.
