Salah targets title win with Roma

In an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, the Egyptian international explained why he chose Roma, revealed his targets for the coming season and delivered a message for the Giallorossi fans…

Mohamed, welcome to the club. How excited are you to have joined Roma?
“Thank you very much. For sure, I'm very happy to be here.”

Lots of clubs were interested in you. What made you choose Roma?
“I think Roma are one of the biggest clubs in the world and I'm happy to be in this team.”

Were you surprised by the reception when you arrived at Rome airport?
“I didn't expect it but it was very nice for me. I was very happy and I enjoyed it.”

Was it important to find a club you can finally settle at?
“We never know what will happen next season. Let's see what will happen but I want to be at one club for a long time because in the last two years I was at Fiorentina for six months and I was at Chelsea for a year. I'd like to stay at one club for a long time.”

What do you hope to achieve at Roma this season?
“I think everybody here has ambition and everybody wants to win the title. That would be good for us and very good for the fans. Everybody will give their best to make the fans happy.”

Have you set yourself any personal targets for the season?
“I think we have to give everything to win the title or some other trophies this season – that would be the most important thing for us.”

Roma will be playing in the Champions League again this season. Is it a competition that excites you?
“Yes, this is one of the reasons why I chose Roma. I want to play here and I want to play in the Champions League.”

Arabic is now the most widely spoken language of the club’s followers on Social Media. Have you had many messages of support from Arabic fans?
“Yes, I've received a lot of messages from Arabic fans. I'm very happy to receive this kind of nice message.”

You followed AS Roma’s official Twitter the night before you flew to Rome. Do you enjoy using social media?
“I don't use social media too much but I have fans and followers there. I like to use it sometimes and sometimes not.”

Finally, do you have a message for all the AS ROMA fans around the world?
“I can say that we'll give everything this season. Everybody will fight and give their best for the club. We hope we can win titles this season.
