The Giallorossi have hit the back of the net in the final fifteen minutes in two consecutive matches. It's the second time this has happened in 2015-16 after the games against Juventus and Frosinone in the first half of the season.
Roma pocketed away victory No.360 in Serie A since it became a unified league and stretched their 100% run at Sassuolo's ground to three out of three, with seven goals scored and none conceded. The Neroverdi remain the only side that Roma have visited on more than one occasion in the league and taken three points back to the capital every time.
Three months since his injury in the Rome Derby and his last goal against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League, Mohamed Salah was back among the goals against Sassuolo, taking his personal tally to seven for the season – six in Serie A and one in Europe. The Egyptian's debut Giallorossi goal actually came against Sassuolo in the 2-2 draw last December.
Two shirt numbers divided among three players. Adem Ljajic wore No.8 in the pre-season friendlies before switching to No.22 – his number at previous club Fiorentina – for the Juventus game in August after Mattia Destro had moved to Bologna. In the space of four days' time, they've now both come back into circulation with new signings Diego Perotti and Stephan El Shaarawy respectively.
In the nine league games following the home defeat to Atalanta, Roma didn't go into half-time with a deficit once, ending the first 45 in the lead on five occasions and level on four. On the four occasions when the score was level at the interval, the Giallorossi could only convert that into three points against Frosinone. Roma were trailing on the scoreboard just once in the last nine games – against Juventus in Turin when the Bianconeri scored with 18 minutes on the clock.
100 days passed between Roma's last away victory against Fiorentina on 25 October and the win on Tuesday night against Sassuolo in Reggio Emilia. The Giallorossi No.11 Mohamed Salah opened the scoring on both occasions.
The number of points Luciano Spalletti has garnered as Giallorossi boss, four off the milestone figure of 300. Now the Tuscan coach only has Nils Liedholmon 387 – 382 when a victory was worth two points and the five he picked up in 1996-97 – and Fabio Capello on 319 ahead of him.
Diego Perotti, starting his first game for Roma, took the number of players fielded by the Giallorossi in the top flight to 665 since 1927.
