Alberto De Rossi: At this stage, the most united team wins

Alberto De Rossi believes that team spirit and togetherness are what ultimately decide crucial matches like tonight's Scudetto final.

The Roma Primavera coach's side meet Juventus later in Reggio Emilia with the league title on the line.

"Everyone is a good side at this stage of the competition and the team that is the most united will emerge victorious," revealed De Rossi on the eve of the showpiece at Mapei Stadium. "We have focused on being a team and on our footballing identity. That is what I believe has got us this far."

Here we are, the final match of the season...

"Yes, we're thinking about this match. I saw how happy the lads were to have made it here. They're focused on going all the way. All of us are aiming to bring the trophy back to Rome for the first time in five years."

Has the team's growing belief in their ability given them the edge in the final stages of the season?

"I think the experience of the first half against PSG stayed with us. That was a big learning curve. Sadly, it happened and we weren't able to return to Europe's top four sides. But that sparked a response in terms of emotion and our approach, to avoid jeopardising all the hard work we put in during the week. We made progress and you could really see that against Inter when it looked all over. The team stayed calm, kept playing football and turned the game on its head. That goal could have killed anyone."

How pleasing was it for you as a coach to see your team's reaction?

"It was one of the best matches during my time in charge. With a touch of madness for that goal we conceded a few seconds into extra time. We were a little on edge but we learned from it. The team stayed true to themselves and reacted."

What response are you looking to see from your guys in this final?

"You can of course improve in the last match too. We don't require too many improvements but we do need to be a touch more mature and clinical in managing a lead. There are few things we need to work on, Juventus are a very strong, technical side so we can't afford to switch off. The lads appear very focused and that's crucial."
