Danilo: We must find Roma's weak spots

On the strengths of the Roma team...

“Roma is a balanced team, with plenty of skill, both in the defence and the attack. It’s up to us to find their weak spots and go for them. The way I see it, their biggest asset might actually be the attack, where they have fast, competent players. We will have to do our best to control them, as speed is one of their features.”

On the 'key' to success...

“If we remain united, as we have been since the start of the pre-season, our job will be easier. We need to work as a team, as that is the only way to reach our goal.”

On Thomas Vermaelen's optimism about the tie...

“His speech carries plenty of confidence and someone who says what he said surely trusts himself and his team. But we are thinking the same. We have a great team and I’m sure it won’t be easy for them to play here at Estádio do Dragão.”

On winning their first match of the season...

“The fact that we have already played an official match and they haven’t may give us some advantage, but that isn’t everything. [Rio Ave's stadium] Vila do Conde is always a difficult stadium to play in, but I don’t think that match will play any role in this one. It was important for the team to overcome that test.”

On the support of the home fans...

“The biggest reward a winner of the European Championship can have is to play and count on the support of all the Portuguese, not just FC Porto fans. That’s what I’m counting on, as this competition is important to Portugal and to Portuguese football.”
