Ndicka becomes first Roma player since 2004 to play 38 matches without being replaced

38 out of 38 in Serie A. From the first to the last minute.

Even Ndicka has set a record at Roma since the introduction of a 20-team Serie A.Since 2004, he is the only Roma outfield player who has played every match of a single league season (in this case 2024-25) from the very first minute without ever being replaced.

Out of the 250 players – excluding goalkeepers – who have turned out for Roma over the past 21 years, the French-Ivorian centre-back is the only one who has played the entire 3420 minutes of the season. A unique record that will be hard to repeat in the future, given the introduction of the five-substitution rule since 2020.

The only player who came close to the defender’s numbers is Rodrigo Taddei in the 2005-06 season. The Brazilian played 38 out of 38 matches from the first minute, staying on the pitch until the end of 18 of them.

Tammy Abraham also played in all 38 matches in the 2022-23 season, but only started 24 times.

The other ever-presents in Serie A

Apart from Ndicka, eight other outfield players have completed an entire Serie A season playing all the matches and without being replaced since 2004.

These players are Leonardo Bonucci (2009-10, Bari), Alessandro Agostini (2009-10, Cagliari), Daniele Rugani (2014-15, Empoli), Francesco Acerbi (2016-17, Sassuolo), Milan Skriniar (2017-18, Inter), Francesco Acerbi (2017-18, Sassuolo), Francesco Caputo (2018-19) and Federico Baschirotto (2024-25, Lecce).

Fewer than 10 in over 20 years of Serie A matches.

Quite the record. Congratulations Evan!
