"Let's Play Together": AS Roma involved in awareness event at Torquato Tasso Classical High School with Roma Blind Football

Roma were present at the historic Liceo Torquato Tasso for the club's project dedicated to the inclusive spread of the game of football in Italy’s capital.

On Wednesday 26 March AS Roma brought their Roma Blind Football project to Liceo Torquato Tasso on Via Sicilia, one of the oldest schools in Rome, to discuss the themes of paralympic sport and the discipline of five-a-side blind football. The morning started with a talk delivered to over one hundred and fifty students followed by practical tests to show that football is for everyone.

The meeting was preceded by a photographic exhibition curated by Lorenzo Foddai, who has been following the Roma Blind Football team for two years and who has helped to show people what this paralympic discipline is all about.

At the end of the talk practical tests took place in the school yard, conducted by school staff and led by coach Sauro Cimarelli, through the use of a sound ball and special masks to simulate blindness in the students.

It was a great day of discussion, sharing and inclusion which embodied the spirit of the Let's Play Together project, which AS Roma are promoting to help make football accessible to everyone.
