National Braille Day: girls from the AS Roma academy meet Roma Blind Football

The club continues its awareness-raising initiatives to promote football in every setting and for everyone, regardless of circumstances.

To mark National Braille Day on 21 February, the Let’s Play Together programme made a stop at the Paralympic Centre in Via delle Tre Fontane for an educational meeting between a group of girls from the AS Roma academy and blind footballers of Roma Blind Football, an amateur club that Roma has supported for several years.

During two training sessions, the girls, accompanied by mascot Romina, had the chance to experience the unique aspects of this sporting discipline, which allows visually impaired players to feel the ball and enjoy the same emotions as any footballer.

By using sound-emitting footballs and special blindfolds to simulate total blindness, all differences were eliminated, ensuring equal conditions for everyone, fostering teamwork and inclusion because football is for everyone and knows no barriers.
