    Juric's post-Dynamo Kyiv analysis

Ivan Juric was interviewed by Sky Sport Italia after the match against Dynamo Kyiv.

Here's what our coach had to say...

There were some good things on display today, albeit not for the entire 90 minutes. What's your take on the game?

"There were times when I really liked what we were doing and others when I was less impressed, where we still lack a bit of confidence. But looking at the overall chances, shots on goal and corners, we thoroughly deserved to win. Even towards the end when we sat back a bit and got men behind the ball, we managed the game really well.”

The team are getting better at regaining possession quickly but don't always make the right decisions.

“I think our pressing game is excellent at the moment. We pressed really well against Inter and Monza too, when we kept the ball and won it back quickly. You're right, though: when you win the ball, that's the best time to strike the opposition and we're not as sharp as we should be yet. We'll work on it. We'll look at our mistakes and try to do better.”

Tell us about Enzo Le Fee. And when will we see Mats Hummels?

"I like Le Fee a lot. I think he can do a lot better than he did today but it was his first game. He's extremely intelligent and gets on well with the others. He can only get better.

“I see Hummels in [Evan] Ndicka's position, the last line of defence, and right now we're performing really well there. Ndicka is showing what he can do, displaying his strengths. He's the ideal player for this sort of game, so he has an advantage. Hummels is a consummate professional and he'll definitely get opportunities.”

Tommaso Baldanzi appears to be growing with every minute he spends on the pitch.

“I agree. He plays the game very well. He's direct and goes straight for goal, which is key for a wide forward. He also does an excellent job defensively, and does so with great intelligence. We have lots of good young players. [Nicola] Zalewsku did brilliantly today too. Lots of players are doing brilliantly and I'm very happy with them, though they still have lots of room for improvement and can get a lot better.”

Were you pleased with how Niccolo Pisilli fared in a slightly more advanced role?

“He's an phenomenal talent. He can do better because sometimes he runs too much and drifts away from the right position to play in those positions. But it's all new for him and I enjoy coaching him because he's so talented. He senses the space, he controls the ball well, he's humble. He's got the lot. Slowly but surely, whether it's in the middle for further forward, he'll get his playing time.”
