The 'Tutti Responsabili' (We're All Responsible) initiative, which follows UEFA's Circular Economy sustainability guidelines, will see an information stand set up outside the Curva Sud at the Stadio Olimpico once a month before a match, with stewards and hostesses raising awareness among Giallorossi fans on the importance of recycling and waste disposal.
The project with Municipio I, the administrative subdivision of the capital in which the Stadio Olimpico is situated, also aims to improve the cleanliness around the stadium, with a particular emphasis on the disposal of cigarette butts and electronic cigarettes.
Though it has been running since September, the scheme was officially launched at Roma's match against Inter on Sunday evening, when AS Roma General Counsel Lorenzo Vitali welcomed the mayor of Rome Roberto Gualtieri, AMA President Bruno Manzi and General Manager Alessandro Filippi, and Municipio I councillor for Environmental and Waste Policies Stefano Marin in the AS Roma Hospitality Area.
“Initiatives like 'Tutti Responsabili' are of great value for reinforcing the sustainability culture in our city, so I would like to thank AS Roma for joining together with AMA,” said the mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri. “Getting everyone on board – both the institutions and the citizens – is essential if we are to improve the quality of city life. Recycling is a concrete action that can make a difference and initiatives like this, especially in symbolic locations such as the Stadio Olimpico, play a crucial role in promoting greater awareness and respect for the environment.”
