    Juric's pre-Inter media conference

Ahead of Sunday's clash with Inter at the Stadio Olimpico, Ivan Juric took questions from journalists at a press conference in Trigoria.

Here's what the boss had to say...

How have the players been looking this week? And how important is this game?

“We know all about Inter. They're a top team who have been playing great football for many years now.

“The players who stayed in Trigoria trained very well. I'm happy. The others seem to have come back in good spirits and there no problems.”

What do you play against a team like Inter?

“They don't have any weaknesses. They're always very difficult to play against, for everyone. They've known each other for years and play good football, switching positions, knowing exactly what to do and how to deal with different in-game situations. We'll play our usual game with the same ideas and try to ask questions of them.”

Inter have lots of fantastic players, one of whom you know very well – Federico Dimarco. Could the duel between Angelino and Dimarco prove decisive tomorrow?

“I'm very happy that Dimarco has made such a good career for himself. We worked together at Verona and he's a smashing lad. He's reaping the rewards for all the work he put in previously. He's a very hard worker.

“Stopping him is very difficult because he's so precise with his left foot and he's often hard to pick up. He's developed into a total footballer.

“I think Angelino is a very talented footballer. He can do better in certain situations, especially in attack. He could have threatened more in our last game and I expect more from him in that sense but he has the right qualities.”

Roma have the same attacking stats as Inter in terms of shots and expected goals, but Inter have scored 16 times and Roma eight. How do you score more goals?

“In the last match we created quite a few dangerous situations. We have to keep working. Our players have the quality to score goals and they've demonstrated that in the past. I hope it's just a spell we're going through and I hope we can score more, starting tomorrow. Looking at the players we have and what they've done in the past we can score a lot more than we're doing at the moment.”

Last season at Torino you defended well against Inter with four defenders. Could that be an idea for tomorrow's game?

“We've played them both ways before – both with three and with four at the back – but without changing our philosophy much. You have to be perfect against Inter, especially with the way we want to play. You need to be totally switched on and committed, then things can go in your favour. If you're not at your best, if you're not 100%, you can have a bad day like Atalanta did and Inter can give you the runaround and play amazing football.

“We have to play them the way we did in Turin, with these ideas, maintaining it for 95 minutes. The subs will be important and we'll need the right mentality. We can play very well too and when we have the ball we can put them under pressure.”

How are Paulo Dybala and Artem Dovbyk looking coming into this game?

“Dovbyk came back a bit sore but he's recovered well the last few days. He's looking very good. Paulo spent some time working on recovery so that we could get him sorted. He's got three or four very good training sessions under his belt now. We'll manage him in the different phases of the game. It depends how he looks but they're both fully fit. They're both in good shape.”

What about Enzo Le Fee and Leo Paredes in midfield?

“Leo was the last one to return after a long journey. He's better than he was yesterday but he's not at his best.

“I like Enzo. I like the way he works. I like his football intelligence. He's played in teams with similar systems to ours before. I think he's improving every day. He needs to get his fitness back but he'll be a very useful player for us in future.”
