AS Roma announces the creation of ASD Roma 1927 Futsal

AS Roma now has its own official futsal team and is welcoming Olimpus Roma, an elite futsal club in the capital and in Italy, into its family.

From Serie A to the futsal Scuola (school), with all its categories, Olimpus Roma has been highlighting the development of the sport at a high level, the training of young people and the implementation of solidarity projects for the last 25 years.

AS Roma has now chosen to associate its colours and brand with a model futsal club, which will continue to enjoy full autonomy in terms of administrative and sporting management.

Olimpus Roma is therefore becoming ASD Roma 1927 Futsal, a club that will be designated as the “AS Roma’s futsal team” in all official competitions.

The commitment of the Giallorossi in the world of futsal once again shows its innovative streak, with AS Roma being the only Serie A club present in the top tier of futsal.

The history of Olimpus Roma began on 9 September 1999 when the team, which was founded by Andrea Verde with vice president Renato Serafini by his side, participated in its first regional Serie D championship. The club’s rise over the years culminated in 2021 when the team led by coach Daniele D’Orto made history by clinching promotion to Serie A.

In 2023-24, Olimpus Roma played in the Italian Super Cup, reached the final of the Coppa Italia and won the regular season with five rounds of games to go. These achievements are complemented by the under-19s, who won the Scudetto and the Coppa Italia this year.

ASD Roma 1927 Futsal's historic home is the PalaOlgiata on Via Guido Cantini 4, where the first team will play its regular season opener on Friday 18 October at 19:00 CEST.
