Stronger Together: AS Roma employees take part in Race for the Cure fight against breast cancer

Another AS Roma charity initiative will be run this weekend to support the fight against breast cancer, with club staff taking part in a team-building exercise for a good cause at Circo Massimo on Sunday 12 May.

Led by club mascot Romolo, the 'AS Roma Stronger Together' team has chosen to dedicate part of their day off to join the 2 km Race for the Cure walk. The event is organised by the Susan G. Komen Italia foundation, which for the past 25 years has been raising funds and awareness on the importance of prevention and showing solidarity to the 56,000 women who battle the illness in Italy every year.

Initially launched in the United States, in Dallas, in the 1980s, Race for the Cure arrived in Rome in 2000. Since then it has grown year on year, gaining credibility and increasing numbers. To date, over 1,500 initiatives to promote prevention and support for women who undergo operations have been run across Italy.

By signing up its employees for the event, AS Roma aims to offer concrete aid for a social cause that sadly affects many families, while reaffirming its commitment off the field to health, solidarity and community support initiatives.
