Lukaku: “We are happy to have won, we must continue like this”

Romelu Lukaku netted a brace as Roma defeated Cagliari 4-1 on Sunday evening.

Here's what the Belgian forward had to say after the match...

You’re off to a great start in Serie A, scoring almost a goal per game. Is this already Lukaku's Roma?

"No, Roma is Roma. As I said before, we are a team, and we have to improve. We are in a difficult situation.

“We want to do better and must do better, for our fans and for the city. We have a lot of people behind us. I am happy with this victory.”

There was talk of your form returning with time, but instead you’ve made an instant impact at this club. What's the secret?

"I am a professional. During the summer, many people talked about me. I don't talk. Instead, I show on the pitch what I can do for the team.

“We are happy to have won, we must continue like this.”

You appear to have a good relationship with Dybala. How well are you getting on along with him?”

"Very well. Since I arrived in Italy, I've been lucky enough to play with some great players.

“Paulo is a team player that really helps me. It's a shame he got injured today. I'm hoping he recovers quickly because he's the most important player on our team.”

How important was Mourinho in your decision to join Roma and your early success?

“I have a very special relationship with the coach. He knows my family and my children, and I trust him as much as he trusts me.

“But he is also tough when necessary. This, like other coaches I've had, is the only way to help players grow."
