Dybala: "We had to send a message"

Paulo Dybala played a big part in Roma’s emphatic 7-0 victory over Empoli, scoring two goals for the Giallorossi.

Here’s what the Argentinian forward had to say after the match…

Roma needed to change something in the league. It came with this 7-0 win over Empoli.

"For sure we had to send a message and change something. Each of us had to make an extra sacrifice and do something more. We did that well today."

Do you like playing alongside Lukaku?

"I am happy with the arrival of Lukaku, Azmoun, and all the other players who are going to help us. I spoke to the coach, tried to recover properly, and trained. It showed today."

Last season you scored 18 goals in all competitions. You're off to a good start this year. Will you try to match or perhaps surpass that record?

"I started the same way I did last year. I scored a double against Monza in the fourth game, and I scored another double today on matchday four. I'm hoping to do better than last season."

You and Lukaku are both excellent penalty takers. Will you take turns during the year?

"Whoever feels better, shoots. It's a question of confidence. I'll take some penalties and my teammates will take others."
