The Giallorosse continued their fine form so far this season with a stunning performance against one of their nearest league rivals, scoring early on through Andressa Alves and barely looking back from there.
Giada Greggi scored her first goal of the season to put Alessandro Spugna's side in control at half-time; with Fiorentina also down to 10 players after Milica Mijatovic's straight red card.
In the second half Emilie Haavi, Andressa, Zara Kramzar, Norma Cinotti and Manuela Giugliano all got themselves on the scoresheet - ensuring Alice Parisi's goal ended up being nothing more than a consolation for La Viola.
"I asked the girls to produce a really focused performance - we knew it was going to be a tough game against a really good side," Spugna said.
"We did a really good job of keeping the ball, even when both teams had 11 players. There were a lot of goals in there and some of them were really good."
For both Kramzar and Cinotti it was their first goals for Roma - with 17-year-old Kramzar arguably scoring the pick of the goals, sweeping home in emphatic fashion after a sublime team passing move had created the opening.
"I'm delighted to get my first goal," Cinotti said afterwards. "I've been waiting a while for it.
"Today's game was really important because it was a top-of-the-table meeting. We wanted to get the three points to stay at the top - so we are really happy."
