Pellegrini finishes on shortlist for UEFA Men's Player of the Year

Lorenzo Pellegrini has finished in the Top 15 for UEFA's Player of the Year for 2021-22.

The Roma captain finished in 13th spot in the overall voting, as the only Italian player on the list.

The prize will eventually be awarded to one of three finalists: Karim Benzema, Thibaut Courtois and Kevin De Bruyne are the nominees.

The victor will be announced at the group stage draw for this season's Champions League.

Pellegrini, meanwhile, can be content with his place on the list - recognition for a season that saw him drive the Giallorossi to victory in the UEFA Europa Conference League final.
