'A Scuola di Tifo' ('A School for Fans') is a club initiative designed for first-team players from both the men's and women's teams to visit schoolchildren around the region and teach them the importance of key qualities like empathy, equality and respect for others.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the initiative has taken place online - with Mkhitaryan as a result virtually joining 37 children from the Regina Elena Comprehensive School this week to address racism, bullying and other topics.
Mkhitaryan spoke to students - all aged between 13 and 14 - about his experiences as a world-class footballer, including living in a number of different countries and learning from a variety of cultures.
"I'm really happy to have the chance to talk to, and listen to, so many young students like yourselves," Mkhitaryan said.
"It's important to talk about issues like fair play and racism. It's vital you always respect your opponent; I don't think there can be a true contest without respect being there too."
He added: "I am already trying to teach my son about how important respect is; both for other people and in the little things we do. But it is also our task to help those who find themselves in trouble, whether that is because they are the victims of bullying or racism - as has happened to me before.
"In this work we all need help and support sometimes and it's down to us not to leave the side of those who might find themselves in need."
