De Sanctis leaves AS Roma having spent three years as a first-team player for the club, two as its team manager, and a further three as a club director working within the sporting department.
“I would like to thank Morgan for his invaluable contributions to the club and wish him the best of luck for the future, both professionally and personally,” said Tiago Pinto, the club’s General Manager (Sport).
“I am certain that the club will continue to gain the benefits of all the hard work Morgan has done in his areas of responsibility.”
“I feel that now is the right time for me to move on, but Roma will forever have a special place in my heart,” De Sanctis said.
“I have felt emotionally attached to this club ever since my first season as a player, and today I want to thank each and every individual who has helped me during my journey with the club, both on and off the pitch.
“For that reason I am thinking of the fans, the ownership, the directors, the staff, coaches, support staff and all the players with whom I have had the honour of sharing this experience.”
