Roma Women are delighted to announce the signing of attacking midfielder Emilie Haavi.
The 29-year-old Norway international, named by one publication as the 2020 Norwegian League Player of the Year, will reinforce Alessandro Spugna’s side ahead of the second half of the 2021-22 season.
She has signed a contract with the club until 30 June 2023.
"Roma is a big club with a proud tradition," Haavi said.
"The club has high ambitions and I felt that I wanted to be a part of that."
Haavi has enjoyed an illustrious career to date, winning the Norwegian title nine times and the Norwegian Cup on no fewer than eight different occasions.
Across spells at Røa and LSK Kvinner she has made 305 appearances to date, scoring 156 goals in competition. She finished last season as the top goalscorer in the Norwegian league with 13 goals.
Haavi is also an established member of the Norway national side, having scored 16 goals in 90 caps for her country to date.
She has represented her country at three World Cups and two European Championships.
“We are delighted to be able to welcome a player like Emilie to this club,” said Betty Bavagnoli, the club’s Head of Women’s Football.
“We signed her not just for her vast experience but also for her ability to unite both quality and versatility – she is a player who is able to play in various positions at the highest level.
“She is joining at the right time to reinforce our squad and to help us continue to push on in a season where the competition will only get fiercer from here on.”
Haavi joins the Giallorosse for the second overseas experience of her career, having played for NWSL side the Boston Breakers in the United States back in 2017.
Welcome to the club, Emilie!
