She is known to many simply as 'Mamma Roma'. On Monday, the club and Roma Cares unveiled a special mural in memory of Anna Magnani, the actor who took the city to the world.
A Roma fan as well, Magnani was one of the protagonists of a post-war boom that saw Italian, and especially Roman, cinema take over the world - appearing in films like 'Rome, Open City', 'The Rose Tattoo' and 'Mamma Roma'.
The mural, completed in collaboration between Roma Cares, ATER and the IV Municipio of the city, was produced by street artist Lucamaleonte - in the Tiburtino III district of the city.
Among those present for the unveiling were Lazio Regione president Nicola Zingaretti and the club's Director of Institutional Affairs Stefano Scalera.
Magnani won an Oscor in 1956 for her performance in 'The Rose Tattoo', although it was arguably her portrayals in 'Rome, Open City' and 'Mamma Roma' that really cemented her place in the hearts and minds of people around Italy and the world.
A Roma supporter, she was famously pictured in the stands of a win over Sampdoria back in May 1951.
Seventy years later, her ties to the city - and the club - are further underlined.
