Juventus 2-0 Roma: No joy up north

The Giallorossi dominated possession - and many of the other match stats - throughout but were lacking where it counted, as a first-half strike from Cristiano Ronaldo and a subsequent own goal from Roger Ibanez decided the game.

Paulo Fonseca's side certainly created dangerous openings over the course of the 90 minutes, but in truth Wojciech Szczesny was never truly tested as the hosts saw out the game.

There were moments of controversy, however, with Gonzalo Villar seemingly fouled by Adrien Rabiot inside the box late in the first half - an incident that, if the officials had seen it another way, could perhaps have changed the course of the contest.

The Giallorossi are back in action next Sunday - they host Udinese at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.
