Helping those in need: Roma Cares continues initiatives throughout the capital

Roma Cares is redoubling its efforts to help those most in need around the Italian capital.

A year on from the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in Italy, the club is constantly looking at the ways it can help as fans and citizens adapt to the constantly changing circumstances - in the city and around the country.

As part of the ongoing health effort around Italy, Roma Cares has decided to offer its services and assistance with the vaccination programme currently being rolled out.

Thanks to support from Main Global Partner Hyundai, all recent season ticket holders who have booked vaccination appointments between 6-20 April will be offered a courtesy car to take them to and from their appointments in the safest manner possible.

In the meantime, a number of other initiatives are taking place throughout the city. The first of those took place on Wednesday, as first-team players Bryan Cristante and Pau Lopez delivered Easter eggs and other gifts to patients of the children’s ward at Gemelli Hospital – as part of the club’s Toys Day initiative

In addition, on Thursday the distribution of over 500 food boxes will begin – with consignments planned for families and other social groups around Rome. The boxes, put together thanks to work from Elite Supermercati and club partner La Molisana, contain key foodstuffs along with basic healthcare items.

With support from local welfare groups and the city’s Department for Citizens, Schools and Community, over 150 needy families have been identified, all of whom will receive the food boxes.

The same day a number of boxes will also be delivered to the club’s recent over-65 season ticket holders.

Over the coming weeks, Roma Cares will also be providing support to the families of individuals currently in jail.

With Easter getting ever closer, the club is eager to help those organisations that are providing daily care and services to those most in need of support.

Over the next few days, thanks to support from Icam, over 1200 Easter eggs will be delivered for children throughout the city – to hospitals, Covid care centres, family shelters and care homes.
