With the coronavirus outbreak continuing to ravage Italy, with 919 deaths in the last 24 hours, the entire country is on lock down and the oldest members of society are particularly vulnerable each time they leave their home to buy groceries.

Alongside many food items, including bags of Molisana pasta and Gentilini biscuits, a bottle of Peroni and a copy of today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, each Roma Cares pack also contained medical supplies to protect the fans against the coronavirus, including 10 surgical face masks, 10 pairs of protective gloves and five bottles of hand sanitizer.
There was also a special surprise for the club’s oldest season ticket holder, Eliseo Lorenzetti, who was born in 1923, four years before AS Roma was formed. When Eliseo came outside from his apartment to receive his pack, he was presented with a shirt signed by Edin Dzeko.
“I thank you immensely for this visit Roma,” Eliseo said.
