    10 Things to Know: Carles Perez


    Get to know more about our latest signing, Spanish forward Carles Perez...

    1. Carles was born in Granollers, a small town about 30 kilometres from Barcelona, on 16 February 1998.

    2. He joined Barcelona's academy, the fabled Masia, in 2012 - progressing all the way to the first-team during the 2018-19 season.

    3. He made his debut for the club in La Liga on 19 May 2019, against SD Eibar. Perez came on for Malcom as a 72nd minute substitute, as the game finished 2-2.

    4. Overall Perez made 11 appearances for Barcelona in the league, providing two assists and scoring one goal.

    5. In the Champions League, meanwhile, he made just one appearance - starting, and scoring, as Barcelona beat Inter Milan 1-0 to knock them out of the Champions League in this year's group stage.

    6. For the Spanish national team, Perez has represented sides at Under-16, U-17 and U-21 level.

    7. During the 2017-18 season he was one of the key members of the Barcelona side that won the UEFA Youth League that season - scoring seven goals in nine games during the competition.

    8. Perez actually faced Roma during his Youth League career - back in 2015 he came on against Alberto De Rossi's side, in a game that eventually finished 3-3.

    9. During his time at Barcelona he wore the No. 43 and No. 27 shirts. At Roma, meanwhile, he will take No. 31.
