The Giallorossi were left with an uphill battle after going 2-0 down before the half-time break - and in the end an injury-time own goal only served to make the final scoreline appear slightly closer.

An injury to Riccardo Calafiori, along with a late red card for Stefano Parodi, ensured it was an afternoon to forget for Alberto De Rossi's side.

"We dominated, but they scored - that can't happen," De Rossi said.

"We have to improve, especially mentally."
