Roma Women to host PSG in pre-season clash

The game at Stadio Tre Fontane, which will be open to the public, gets underway at 16:30 local time.

PSG, runners-up in Ligue 1 last season, will come to the Italian capital for a high-profile match between two sides boasting some of the best players in Europe – and a match of particular significance for Giallorosse midfielder Andrine Hegerberg, who moved between the clubs in the summer.

The French side have already begun their season, winning 7-0 against Soyaux earlier this month. Four days after the match in Rome, they will face Sporting Braga in the first leg of the last-32 of the Champions League.

The Trofeo Luisa Petrucci was first played last summer, as Betty Bavagnoli’s side beat Florentia 4-0 to become the inaugural winners.

The match is played in the memory of Petrucci, a renowned Roma fan who for decades could be seen supporting the men’s team from the Curva Sud at the Stadio Olimpico.
