Roma to return to the ICC in 2019

AS Roma is delighted to confirm that the club will be participating in the International Champions Cup once again this summer.

For the fourth year in a row, the Giallorossi will be heading to North America in July as part of the club’s pre-season preparations.

This summer the team will once again face some of the biggest side in the world - in a competition that has established itself as football’s premier exhibition tournament.

The club’s opponents for the 2019 ICC tournament, along with the match dates and venues, will be revealed at a special launch event in New York on March 27.

“We are extremely proud to accept the invitation extended by the ICC and to return to the United States, confirming our participation in a tournament that has seen its prestige and visibility grow significantly in recent years – and has established its competitive value as being of the highest level,” said club CEO Guido Fienga.

This will be the third time in succession the club have competed in the ICC, and the fifth time in total since 2014.

Last season the Giallorossi faced Tottenham, Real Madrid and Barcelona in three exciting games – delighting fans in San Diego, Dallas and New York.

Previous tournaments have seen Roma face the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Manchester United.

Further details about this year’s tournament will be confirmed next week.
