Play the Future: Another great Partners Day at Roma

This year's tagline for the event was 'Play the Future', as the club's commercial department highlighted the many ways Roma are embracing the future and exploring new opportunities.

Members of the club's executive and commercial department spoke to partners, outlining many of the different areas being worked on.

"Each of us is responsible for our future growth," managing director Mauro Baldissoni said.

"Roma wants to continue to evolve and become a platform for growth, taking advantage of all opportunities that come along with that."

One of the main focuses of the event was eSports, an area the club entered in February 2017.

On Thursday, two of the club's professionals - 'Zimme' and 'Damie' - played a special exhibition match on FIFA19 alongside players Javier Pastore and Stefano Greco.

Around the match, the growth potential in eSports was explained to partners.

A number of the club's partners spoke after the event.

"Our company has been involved in football for a while - we have been sponsoring the World Cup for 20 years," said Pier Paolo Greco, marketing director & communications manager at Hyundai Italia. "Our global strategy is to become ever more involved in local markets.

"The European market is a key one and we wanted to partner with a club in Italy - and in that decision we chose Roma."

Anthony Werkman, CEO of Betway added: "When you talk about a partnership you are talking about working very closely together - getting the best out of both sides.

"We know AS Roma are very strong with their own content. There's content all over the place through all of their digital platforms, it's fantastic. So to be able to work with a partnership like that and identify the values and the interests that are sitting in that fanbase to find opportunities... for us, it's a wonderful fit with AS Roma. We're very excited to work with them and obviously are looking forward to a great result on Saturday."
