Five heartwarming moments from Michela's unforgettable Roma trip

Trips with the first-team squad are supposed to give the fans involved a life-affirming adventure. Instead, when Michela came with the squad to Turin last month, it was the players and staff who were in for an experience they wouldn't soon forget...

By now you may well have already seen the video of Roma fan Michela who, along with her sister Rosa, joined Eusebio Di Francesco's side for December's Serie A trip to face Juventus - as part of the club's ongoing 'Vieni in Trasferta con Noi' ('Come Away with Us') initiative.

Michela is blind, but that has certainly not prevented her from enjoying a passionate support for the Giallorossi.

If you are still to see it, watch the full video of her trip below...

Dried your eyes yet? Well, once you have, here's a few moments from the stroy that particularly stuck out to us.

You can read more details about the trip here.

1) Michela remembering one of her favourite Totti goals

Discussing where her passion for all things Roma - which began when she was nine years old - came from, Michela goes on to remember one of her favourite goals: Francesco Totti's match-winner against Juventus in the league back in 2013.

For those who don't remember (and for those happy to remember once again), here is the goal in question:

Michela's reaction to the goal - "I just said, 'Good God!'" - is surely all of us...

2) The sisterly bond between Michela and Rosa

It's worth repeating that, beyond the competition being won completely at random, it was actually Michela's sister, Rosa, who entered the prize draw - and won.

You could not fail to have your heart warmed by the strong bond between the two sisters, especially after they discuss it for the camera.

"I won this for her," Rosa said.

"She has always been able to transmit her passion for Roma, and her zest for life. Her joy, her happiness is mine too."

This might be about the moment we started to well up...

3) Literally every interaction Michela has with a player

The highlight of every 'Vieni con Noi...' trip is clearly the moment they get to meet the playing squad, to pose for photos and get some items signed.

Michela, however, took that opportunity to the next level - using the moment to seemingly give every single player she met an individual pep talk. The Roma passion is strong with this one.

Edin Dzeko - who even introduces himself! - is called "the man", Nicolo Zaniolo is implored to score against Juve for her, while Juan Jesus gets a motivational speech telling him to show the world what he has got...

Completely at ease in the situation, Michela somehow ends up ensuring the players get even more out of the occasion than she does.

4) *That* meeting with Totti

What. A. Moment.

You couldn't script such a meeting, and even if you did it surely could not come off as perfectly as this (although the team doctor who steps through the shot at almost the worst possible moment does his very best to ruin it all...).

Speaking to the camera, Michela is reciting the words from Francesco Totti's famous retirement speech back in 2018... just as the man himself walks through the lobby.

Totti, stops, listens and finally (in typical fashion) cracks a joke: 'Who wrote that, then?'

What follows is perfection - especially the part when Michela jokingly suggests that she wrote the speech, following on from the World Cup winner's joke that it was his wife, Ilary Blasi, that must have written most of it.

Making a joke with Il Capitano, when you have only just met the man too... just imagine having the stones to do that!

To top it all off, Michela then signs off with a poetic response to the King, revealing she 'wrote his words on her heart'.

Even Totti seems momentarily stunned by that.

A sentiment all Roma fans would surely agree with, but few (if any) have managed to express so clearly.

And then, after Totti (and Di Francesco) have taken photos and departed, the two sisters finally get emotional as they reflect on what has just happened.

A beautiful moment.

5) Michela's farewell

While we will skip over the result of the game she went to watch, at the stadium Michela expands on what it is she loves about being a Roma fan.

"For me, being a fan is about the singing," she explains.

"The people chanting, 'Roma! Roma!'. The choreography. That's what matters to me - the spirit and the substance, and faith. When it calls I respond."

Not content with leaving us all in tears with her perfect summation of what Totti means to all Roma fans, she goes on to summarise the fan experience with lyrical beauty too.

Thank you, Michela - we really hope you enjoyed your trip!
