Despite not finding the net in the last two home matches, Roma have scored 41 times in 21 matches this season for an average of 1.95 goals a game. The Giallorossi's strike-rate in league and cup competitions hasn't been this high since 2009-10, where Roma – competing in the Europa League – finished up with an average of 1.96. To find an even higher goalscoring rate, you have to go back to 2000-01, when Roma played in the UEFA Cup and banged in 2.02 goals per game.
Alessandro Florenzi is the third Roma player of the season to reach 20 games, starting in 18 of them. Kostas Manolas and Radja Nainggolan broke this threshold before him, having featured in all 21 games contested by Rudi Garcia's men this season. The Greek defender has started every single fixture so far, while the Belgian midfielder has come off the bench twice in the league.
Roma have made it through the group stages seven times out of nine seasons competing in Europe's premier club competition. The Giallorossi failed to qualify only in 2004-05 and 2014-15. Roma have been knocked out twice in the now-defunct second group stage, twice in the Round of 16 and twice in the quarter-finals.
Roma have kept a clean sheet ten times out of 39 Champions League matches played at home. The 0-0 draw against BATE Borisov has also broken a run of 27 games in European cups with at least one goal conceded, stretching back to CSKA Sofia 0-3 Roma in the Europa League on 16 December 2009.
In UEFA competitions – beginning with the Cup Winners' Cup in 1969-70 – Roma have now registered 20 draws at home against 71 wins and 22 losses, scoring 206 and conceding 96.
The game against BATE was Roma's 39th at home in the Champions League. The Giallorossi's record in Rome reads 15 win, 12 draws and just as many defeats, with 52 goals scored and 53 let in.
Roma's form in the 21 fixtures across Serie A and the Champions League this year is similar to last season's: 42.9% wins against 44% in 2014-15, 33.3% draws compared with 34% and 23.8% losses versus 22% last year.
Including the 0-0 on Wednesday, the Giallorossi have now kept 52 clean sheets in UEFA competitions.
Daniele De Rossi picked up his 75th European appearance against the Belarusian outfit. Roma's No. 16 is twenty games behind Francesco Totti in the all-time European rankings and ahead of Aldair (64), Damiano Tommasi (53), Sebino Nela (51) and Christian Panucci (50).
