Three Roma players helped Italy claim the biggest prize in world football exactly ten years ago today.
On 9 July 2006 Francesco Totti, Daniele De Rossi and Simone Perrotta were part of the Azzurri team that beat France in the World Cup final.
Marcello Lippi's side triumphed 5-3 on penalties after extra-time had ended 1-1, Marco Materazzi responding to Zinedine Zidane's early opener.
Totti and Perrotta were both named in the starting line-up that night, while De Rossi came off the bench in the 61st minute.
De Rossi, who scored in the penalty shootout that saw Italy crowned world champions, has more Italy caps (106) and goals (18) than any other Roma player in history.
Meanwhile Totti, who made 58 appearances and scored nine goals for the national side, scored the match-winner from the spot in Italy's round-of-16 clash with Australia in 2006.
Perrotta - 47 games and two goals for Italy - was a key member of that World Cup-winning side, starting all seven games. He hung up his boots in 2013 after nine years at Roma.
