The Giallorossi romped to a 4-2 win at the Ernst Happel Stadion, thanks in great part to Dzeko's brace.
The Bosnian forward now has 12 goals in his last 12 games for Luciano Spalletti's side - but was keen to focus on the team positives after the victory.
“I’m delighted because I scored two goals and we won the game," Dzeko said. "It was really important to win tonight, because we drew against them at home a fortnight ago.
"It’s always difficult to win away from home, but we managed it and we’re pleased. We’ve come on a lot in recent months – we’ve been playing well and winning games that we wouldn’t have won in the past.
"It’s a shame we drew with Empoli, but we need to look to the future and keep playing the way we did tonight. We have another game to win on Sunday, then it’s the international break.”
