The Festa della Famiglia – which takes place at the Stadio Olimpico on 3 September – is also a chance for the AS Roma family to stand in solidarity with those affected by the recent earthquake in Central Italy.
It promises to be a packed day of activities, with proceedings getting underway from 12:00 CEST on Saturday.
The day is being organised by the club’s Roma Cares foundation, with approval from the Pontifical Council for Promoting New Evangelisation, as part of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy.
The main event will be the friendly match between Roma and San Lorenzo, which kicks off at 18:00 CEST. All proceeds from the game will be donated to the Central Italy Earthquake Emergency fund, while it is hoped that auctions on the Football Cares platform will provide extra support for the areas affected by the disaster.
A wide range of activities for children and parents will be taking place around the Foro Italico area throughout the day.
The AS Roma Fan Village will open at 12:00 CEST, giving the public a chance to get involved in a variety of activities. Fans will also find a “tree of values”, onto which all are welcome to write messages sharing their thoughts on what family means to them.
The Stadio Olimpico gates will open at 15:00 CEST. First up on the pitch is a mini tournament involving youngsters from the AS Roma Football School.
At 18:00 CEST, the Giallorossi will kick off against Argentine outfit San Lorenzo. The singer Alessandra Amoroso will appear at half time to give a special performance.
