Winger Federico Ricci netted his first ever Serie A goal in Sassuolo’s 3-2 defeat to Sampdoria on Sunday.

Ricci, who played the full 90 minutes, broke a 0-0 deadlock at the start of the second half. In the 64th minute winger Antonino Ragusa fired off a cross from the left wing, which Ricci met and finished in the box to give Sassuolo the lead.

Ragusa doubled Sassuolo’s advantage a few minutes later, but Sampdoria added three late goals to peg the Neroverdi back and hand them a fourth consecutive defeat.

Ricci will look to continue his excellent form next weekend against Napoli.
