Moeka Minami signs for Roma Women!

Minami, 23, has signed a two-year contract with Roma Women that runs until 30 June 2024.

The defender, a full Japan international, joins the Giallorosse from Urawa Red Diamonds.

“This is my first adventure abroad,” Minami said.

“I am feeling so many emotions right now, but above all I am just so excited and delighted to be playing for AS Roma.

“I will do my absolute best to try and help the team be successful.”

Minami has already made almost 20 appearances for her country, featuring largely at centre-back.

Left-footed, she played every single minute of last season’s league campaign for Urawa as they finished second in the Japanese top-flight.

“We are all delighted to be able to welcome Moeka to the club,” said Betty Bavagnoli, the club’s Head of Women’s Football.

“We really wanted her and were determined in our pursuit of her; despite still being so young she is already an extremely accomplished player.

“We have now added another talented player to our defensive ranks and we believe she has attributes that will fit in really well with our football philosophy.”
