With Paulo Fonseca's options limited somewhat by international call-ups and other absences, the Giallorossi nevertheless led early on through Jordan Veretout and never relinquished that lead - with Diego Perotti and Henrikh Mkhitaryan also getting on the scoresheet.
Despite that, two penalties from former Serie A forward Maxi Lopez ensured the game went into half-time with a 3-2 scoreline.
In the second half it was the turn of the Primavera to impress - as all 11 players were changed, and Primavera boss Alberto De Rossi assumed charge of the dugout too - as Mirko Antonucci grabbed the only goal of the half to put the finishing touches to the scoreline.
