The Under-19s, domestic champions in each of the last two seasons, returned to winning ways thanks to goals from Battistini, Petrara and Tarantino.

"It was vital that we got back on track," coach Fabio Melillo said afterwards.

"We still have a few girls missing, but nonetheless it was important to get back to winning ways and to put in a great performance too.

"The final scoreline was a bit closer than it should have been, considering how many chances we created, but that's football - if you don't take you chances you risk slipping up."
