    Happy birthday Unione Tifosi Romanisti!

Twenty one years ago today, one of the most important fan groups in club history was born.

On 23 January 2000, the Stadio Olimpico conference hall was filled by 86 individuals - between them representives of the club, various fan associations and supporter groups - as well as hundreds of individual fans, who as a collective agreed to form Unione Tifosi Romanisti (UTR).

People from different social classes, political and religious creeds all came together behind their one true love: AS Roma.

Over the years, UTR has grown exponentially. In the past twenty one years, over 500 clubs and 90,000 Romanisti have joined the association, which is currently led by lawyer Fabrizio Grassetti.

Among the hundreds of initiatives taken on by the UTR for Roma and its fans, a 2007 exhibition in Testaccio stands out, where over 200,000 visitors could admire classic jerseys, flags, pennants and other important documents of the club’s history, taking Romanisti on a nostalgic trip through their past.

Nonetheless, the UTR’s greatest matter of pride has to be their faithfulness to our colours: in every game played since 2000, there has always been at least one representative of the group present at the stadium.

That serves as evidence of why “Roma mai sola” (Roma never alone) isn’t just their motto, but means something far greater.

The proof of their longevity: always and forever alongside AS Roma.
