On this day in 1927, Roma beat Verona 3-1 - with Enrico Cappa scoring two of the goals for the Giallorossi. It was the first time in club history that a player scored twice for the side in a game - but it assuredly would not be the last.
In fact, 531 times a player has now scored twice in the same game for the club - with the last of them coming from Jordan Veretout against Juventus last month.
On the anniversary of the first, we take a look at the 10 players with the most braces in club history.
The standout No. 9 of the second half of the 1990s for the team. He joined from Udinese and quickly became a fan favourite, going on to score braces against: Genoa, Reggiana, Neuchatel, Fiorentina (twice), Karlsruhe, Bologna, Cagliari, Perugia, Vicenza and Empoli.
Delvecchio sits among the three great derby goalscorers in club history - along with Dino Da Costa and Francesco Totti. He scored in the derby at least once for six straight seasons between 1997 and 2003, scoring a brace twice in that span too.
His other doubles came against Venezia (3), Fiorentina (2), Milan, Perugia, Cagliari, Bologna, Udinese.
Another derby hero, famously scoring four in one game back in 2002. A No. 9 built on movement and trickery rather than pure pace and power, he scored 12 braces for the club: Gothenborg, Lazio, Inter, Brescia, Atalanta (two), Venezia, Empoli, Cagliari, Siena, Chievo, Triestina.
Da Costa managed three braces against Lazio down the years - with his other nine coming against Triestina, Padova, Sampdoria, Juventus (twice), Udinese, Napoli, Torino and Hannover.
The No. 9 for the club's first-ever Scudetto, in 1941-42. The youngest-ever debutant in Serie A, at least until Pietro Pellegri equalled it in 2017. His braces came against Genoa (twice), Fanfulla, Livorno, Torino, Bari, Salernitana (due), Torino, Venezia, Atalanta, Lucchese, Inter.
Known to so many simply as the 'Bomber'. If Amadei was the striker for the first title-winning side, then Pruzzo was that man for the second, in 1983. He could score in every way - with his head, left foot, right foot... and acrobatically too.
He even scored five in a game once, against Avellino in 1986. His 15 doubles, meanwhile, came against Ascoli (twice), Cagliari (twice), Ternana, Pistoiese, Ballymena, Torino, Bologna, Como, Ipswich Town, Pisa, Dundee United, Bari, Hellas Verona.
That one against Dundee United, of course, meant Roma reached the 1984 European Cup final.
“I don't think, I shoot." That's how Volk said he saw the game. He scored goals, that was his job and he was spectacularly good at it.
He scored 15 braces in total: Modena (two), Legnano, Triestina, Novara, Padova, Casale (thee), Pro Patria (two), Livorno, Torino, Milan, Genoa.
The most prolific non-Italian goalscorer in club history, with 106 goals to his name at the time of writing.
His 18 braces so far have come against Palermo, Crotone, Napoli (twice), Sassuolo, Austria Vienna, Pescara, Fiorentina, Empoli, AC Milan, Hellas Verona, Benevento, Chelsea, Chievo, CSKA Moscow, Atalanta, Frosinone and Sampdoria.
Top of the club standings for hat-tricks scored, but second in line when it comes to doubles. Nevertheless, more than enough to get an understanding of just how prolific Manfredini was.
His first brace came against Lazio. After that: Bari, Udinese (twice), Inter (twice), Atalanta, Juventus, Sampdoria, Cologne, Bologna, Hibernian, Birmingham, SPAL, Torino, Catania, Potenza and Napoli.
A list dominated by No. 9s but headed by a No. 10 - the No. 10.
It's hard to see Totti's records ever being equalled - either this one, or his overall tallies for goals scored (307) and games played (786) for the club.
For posterity, the complete list of his braces: Bari (twice), Udinese (five), Cagliari (four), Nova Gorica, Milan (three), Lecce (two), Valencia, Brescia, Empoli (two), Sampdoria (four), Siena, Parma (two), Inter (two), Chievo (three), Reggina, Livorno, Atalanta, Palermo, Messina, Juventus, Torino (two), Bologna, Gent, Kosice, Fiorentina (three), Napoli, Lazio (two), Cesena, Catania.
