Ahmed Sulaiman Al Dakheel: “First and foremost, I am a person who is in love with AS Roma! I am also the president and founder of Roma Club Arab World since its foundation in 2001. I currently live in the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh.”
When was Roma Club Arab World formed and what was the idea behind setting up the club?
Ahmedl: “Roma Club Arab World was founded in 2001, when we launched the first Roma Arab community through our website, Roma 4 Ever Network. What began as a Roma news website, featuring writers from Arab countries throughout the Middle East has blossomed into one of the most comprehensive fan communities in the world.”
Roma Club Arab World is unique because it is not just one Fan Club, you are spread over many countries and individual Fan Clubs...
Ahmed: “This is true, Roma Club Arab World is spread across multiple cities and countries.This is what sets us apart from other fans' clubs. We were initially focused on the parent network Roma 4 Ever Network, and that paved the way for us to grow into other regions throughout the Arab world.
“Managing multiple fan clubs in different cities is difficult, but we are fortunate to have so many faithful and committed fans helping Roma Club Arab World operate and grow.”
How does the Roma Club Arab World experience differ from country to country in the Middle East?
Ahmed: “Each city and country has its own different culture, and there are many things that make our fan clubs unique; but the one thing that will always keep us together and cohesive is our love for this great club.”
Roma Club Arab World has been around for almost 20 years, since 2001 - what has changed about your club since then, and what has remained the same?
Ahmed: “Many years have passed since Roma Club Arab World was founded, and we always try to continuously refresh our community with new members, community administrators, and events. The one thing that has remained constant since the beginning is our passion and love for AS Roma.”
What does a normal Roma match-day look like for members of Roma Club Arab World around the Middle East?
Ahmed: “The match day is special for all AS Roma fans, wherever they are. It‘s not very different from those preparing to go to the Stadio Olimpico, who are watching matches in the stands. Our passion and the love is the same. Meeting to watch matches is a special social event that our fans look forward to every week!”
Have any members of Roma Club Arab World been over to Rome for a match this season?
Ahmed: “Most of our members travel on a regular basis, whether organised by our fan club, or by themselves. Roma Club Arab World will always have a strong presence at the Stadio Olimpico!”

Ahmed: “Our diverse fan base is what distinguishes us. Since we are represented in so many cities, and countries throughout the Arab world, you will always find a Roma fan club that suits you.”
Can you describe what the football culture looks like in the Middle East, and how that has impacted Roma Club Arab World?
Ahmed: “The love for football in the Arab world is huge, and very similar to Europe, and Italy in particular. You will find that members of Roma Club Arab World have an immense passion for this beautiful game.”
What is your favorite Roma moment since Roma Club Arab World was formed?
Al Dakheel: “There are many favorite moments that cannot be counted, since our club was formed in 2001.
“However, I’d say that my personal meeting with captain Francesco Totti, and presenting him with a commemorative plaque from Roma Club Arab World is one memory that stands out above the rest.”

“It means everything to us. The AS Roma family is always trademarked by passion and care, and we are honored to be members of this distinguished family.”
