Dinner Party: Justin Kluivert's five dream post-lockdown guests

Justin Kluivert picks out his five dream guests for an evening dinner party at his – once this lockdown is over, at least.

As he continues to observe the ongoing lockdown in Italy, we asked winger Justin Kluivert to pick out five famous faces he’d love to have around for dinner at the end of the quarantine.

Here’s who the Dutch international is sending his invites out too…

“Right now we all know that, for the safety of ourselves and others, what we need to do right now is stay at home and keep safe,” Kluivert said.

“When the lockdown is over, of course I am really looking forward to meeting up with my teammates again – and also having the chance to hang out properly with my family once more.

“Those are the first people I want to see – but after I’ve caught up with them, these are five guests I’d love to have around for dinner. I think it would be a pretty fun night!”

CRISTIANO RONALDO

“I always want to learn things, especially to help my football, so what better way to do that than to use this dinner party to invite over one of the best players ever?

"We play in a similar position, he’s been there and done everything in the game – so having him over for dinner would be a great chance to pick his brain and learn some different things from him. How he trains, how he eats, how he prepares mentally – there is so much I could pick up.”

RONALDINHO

“I’d have Ronaldinho over for the same reasons – he was an incredible player, there would be so much I could learn from him and how he saw the game. He also played in a generation with so many top players, so I could learn a bit more about what it was like to play against some of those figures.

"He also had that incredible flair and clear joy while playing the game that I could ask him about, and maybe he could show me a few different tricks and skills between courses that I could take with me into the next match!”

DRAKE

“It can’t just be all footballers around the table, though – so I’d definitely invite Drake too, one of my favourite rappers. I’ve always loved his music so it would be cool to have him there to tell his stories about the songs he has made and his career up to this point.

"Plus at the end of the meal he could get up and perform a bit for us all – that’s when the party would really get started!”

TRAVIS SCOTT

“He’s another rapper I’m a fan of, so it would be fun to have him there as well. He can perform with Drake after dinner as well – they’ve done a few good songs together – and I’m sure it gets pretty crazy when they perform together.

"Then afterwards I can corner them both and ask them to name-check me in their next track. Just mention me in one line, that’s all I need from them!”

LEONARDO DI CAPRIO

“I guess I’d round out the table with an actor – and Leonardo has always been one of my favourites. The Wolf of Wall Street is an amazing film, so I’d ask him about that, but there are so many others he has been in and so many incredible stories he must have from all his years in Hollywood.

"It must be crazy for him too, having to deal with the level of fame he has – I wonder how he manages to cope. I’m sure he’d have so much to tell us, it would be fun to hear from him.”

THE DINNER PLAN

“You have to enjoy yourself in life when you can – I think this lockdown has reminded us all of that – so we’d put on a classy menu. When guests arrive we’d have a few small bites, then the menu would be from a Michelin-starred restaurant, with the best wine and drink to go with it. I need to impress these people too!

“After dinner friends can join us and we’ll have Drake and Travis up on stage, while maybe Leo will do a bit of acting for us as well. It would definitely be a night to remember.”
