Mancini walked off the pitch with a clean sheet to his credit, following an intriguing battle with Lautaro Martinez throughout the game.
“It's great to play against strikers of this calibre – it helps you to improve," Mancini said.
"I made a couple of mistakes but luckily I had [Leonardo] Spinazzola there helping me out. I'm trying to learn as much as I can.”
How good do you think Roma are?
“We'll battle for one of the Champions League spots. We have a good team spirit and a top coach, as well as experienced players who are helping us younger guys. We're a great team and we must remember that every Sunday, regardless of the opposition.”
Unlike some of your former Atalanta team-mates, you haven't had any problems settling in at a new club.
“It all comes down to whether you catch onto what the coach wants from you quickly. I knew I might run into difficulties and I can't deny I had a few. It was a massive change from [Gian Piero] Gasperini's football. I've put a lot of effort into it and watched lots of videos so that I can learn as quickly as possible.”
Can you tell us something about Paulo Fonseca?
“We struggled a bit at the start as he also needed to adapt to the Italian game. His way of defending is not so common here. He's understood our needs, like covering the space in behind. He's done great. He reads games very well - down to the finest detail.”
